Founder & Managing Partner
Renata is the driving force behind Proper Proofreading and the development of our signature Proper Proofreading Protocol™, as well as the author of The Proper Style Guide™ blog and The Proper Connections™ community newsletter.
With 25+ years of experience in linguistics, historical language study, orthography, and grammar & style, she brings a deep understanding of the mechanics and evolution of the English language to every project. In addition, she brings 18+ years of corporate finance expertise as a CPA, consultant, and business management professional, along with 5+ years in specialized experience working with legal proceedings, documents, affidavits, and transcripts—ensuring meticulous attention to accuracy, clarity, and professional standards in every project.
Outside of her professional work, Renata is a devoted single parent who loves spending quality time with her daughter. Together, they find joy in dancing, reading, spending time with nature, and traveling. Renata enjoys staying active and is involved in her local church community. At both work and home, Renata is passionate about lifelong learning and personal growth.
